The Ultimate test- How to know a man is attracted to you

Image
Ladies, If you want to know whether a man is interested in you, pay no heed to what he is saying and instead focus on how he’s saying it. According to a new study by psychologists at the University of Stirling, men instinctively adopt a pitch-variable, or sing-song tone – in a similar way that people speak to a baby – when talking to a woman they find attractive. The man will lower his voice to its lowest minimum pitch before picking it up again. They feel that a man lowers his voice to sound manly. Juan David Leongomez, who led the study, said: ‘For men, it is important to sound masculine, which is manifested in a deeper voice pitch. This is so true ....

Pastor T.B Joshua Runs a Nation in a Country

Read this interesting article sent in  Adewale Adeoye, CNN African Journalist of the Year Award Winner ..He detailed his experience during a recent fact finding visit to the Synagogue Church of All Nations.. "Amazed. Amazed. Pastor Temitope Balogun Joshua amazed me. I was part of a delegation that visited him two days into the newyear, on the platform of the human rights community. Our mission was to find out more about the six layer building that collapsed with upsetting death toll. Many of us on the delegation were fuming prior, but had a completely different impression at the end of the encounter. We were seated in a glistering restaurant located downstairs. Several visitors, like the rhythmical movement of a millipede, strolled gently into the restaurant where they had their breakfast and then left. We spent the time watching his Emmanuel TV said to be available in close to 100 countries. I had taken time to walk through the huge estate, soaked in some angel

Apple Loop: Five Steps To Fix iOS 8, Crazy iPhone Designs, Fast iPhone Charging

Image
Taking a look back at another week of news from Cupertino, this week’s Apple Loop covers potential issues in the new MacBook Air, the non-appearance of the iPhone Mini screens, flexible iPhones, some 2015 predictions for Apple, the App Store revenue numbers, five changes iOS 8 needs as soon as possible, the Mophie battery case, a one hour charger, and some SIM-free iPhones. Apple Loop is here to remind you of a few of the very many discussions that have happened around Apple over the last seven days (and you can read  our weekly digest of Android news here on Forbes ). Mark Gurman’s Twelve-Inch MacBook Air Look back over the historical reporting of Apple during the week of CES and you tend to find a ‘big story’ that feels geared towards drowning out the new products on show at Las Vegas. Maybe Apple had something lined up for the start of the week and delayed it, because it’s highly unlikely that Marc Gurman’s detailed speculation and renders of the new MacBook Air w

8 ways to feel rich when you’re not

Image
At one point or another, most of us have been there, trying to stretch a small paycheck around bills that only seem to get bigger. And the often-parroted strategies for making ends meet are largely the same: buy second-hand, clip coupons, wait for sales, etc. But there’s more to life than just figuring out the best way to get by. If small paychecks are a fact of life for you (at least right now), here’s how to rethink the numbers and maybe even begin to feel rich. Now, here are eight ways to feel big while living on a small income. 1. Allow yourself small indulgences Feeling wealthy despite a small paycheck is often as simple as allowing yourself small indulgences. Splurge for your favorite coffee drink on Friday afternoons, skip the spa weekend and invest instead in a 10-minute chair massage, have a good glass of wine with dinner, or carve out some time for a Saturday matinee. Little luxuries reward our hard efforts, keep us motivated, and offer a tempora

Obama’s latest jobs program has promise -- even if Washington does nothing

Image
A century ago, Americans began to coalesce around the idea that education should be compulsory up to age 16. We haven’t budged a day since then. Far more people attend college these days, of course, but they have to pay their own way or cobble together a mix of scholarships, grants, loans and government aid to cover the bill. It works for people who make it through. But a growing portion of young people fall through the sizeable gap between a devalued high-school diploma and a very valuable college degree. Finding productive “middle-skill” jobs for these educational tweens has become a national priority, and President Obama now says he has a solution. Obama wants the government to cover two years’ worth of community college for students who keep their grades up and learn practical skills likely to lead to a decent job and career. The White House says the plan would cost about $6 billion per year, roughly what we spent on disaster aid or the National Science F

The AirAsia mishap

Image
Palpable grief enveloped world aviation circles on December 28, 2014 as an AirAsia flight crashed with 162 passengers and crew members on board. This is one air accident too many. The tragic incident occurred barely 10 months after Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 dropped off the radar over South East Asia and disappeared with 239 people on board. The crashed AirAsia Flight was said to be flying over the Java Sea between the Islands of Belitung and Borneo when it lost contact with the radar. Pictures of bodies of the crash victims recovered from the sea and their grieving relatives splashed on television across the world dampened the joy of year-end festivities for many people, and evoked foreboding and fears for the safety of air travel. If the truth must be told, air mishaps are coming a little too frequently, particularly in Asian countries! Is there something amiss? Global air travel regulatory authorities such as ICAO and the affected Asian countries must do a proper au

Between the southeast, Jonathan and Buhari

Image
As the 2015 general elections of Nigeria draw closer, it has become necessary at this point in time for one, being of Igbo extraction and in his 50s, to take a look at the Presidential candidates of the two biggest political parties, PDP and APC, as it concerns the southeast geo-political zone in the elections. As the electioneering is already heating up with its attendant frenzy and struggle for victory by the various official and unofficial campaigning groups for the candidates, some people in order to gain advantage for their preferred Presidential candidate against his main opponent, due to their individual or personal gains have resorted to using negative propaganda and cheap blackmail to create dangerous and erroneous impressions against the main opponent of their choice candidate. Such cheap instruments of blackmail and hate include unfounded allegations of religious bigotry, nepotism, support or sponsorship insurgence and any other allegation they could eas

Okada riders ‘besiege’ Tuface

O kada riders laid siege for hours last weekend to Rumours, Tuface Idibia’s Nite club, located in Festac Town, during the awareness campaign of his Vote Not Fight Campaign and official launch of his two new albums, a remastered Face 2 Face and 10.0, in commemoration of the 10th year anniversary of Face 2 Face , his debut solo effort which was released in 2004. Over a 100 in number, as soon as they heard that Tuface was at the club, they parked their bikes and waited for hours before the singer finally emerged and when he did, there was frenzy as fans kept screaming and chanting his name. But thanks to security guards who formed a protective shield around him, the crowd could have broken lose. And rather than snub them, Tuface used the opportunity to shake hands with a few lucky fans and preached to them about the need for peaceful general elections on February 14th. “The elections are here, just go out and vote for your candidate and if you do not win, just go home an

Someday, I’ll compete with Mr. Biggs – Ogisi Israel

Even with Nigeria’s rough, tough and patchy business environment, the country still is a land of amazing opportunities good enough for small business start-ups to thrive. Business analysts and economists continue to harp on the immense opportunities to make money in the nation, that don’t even exist or are easily overlooked in other parts of the world. Fortunately, there seems to be a growing number of entrepreneurship awareness in the country and among youths. Today, Nigeria has a bludgeoning army of small scale entrepreneurs who are already exploiting the lucrative opportunities through their MSMEs. The key that tends to drive their success is their ability to see things quite differently and in getting practical, by dirtying their hands when floating their small business concepts. One attribute of throughbred entrepreneurs is that they see potential and opportunities where there are problems. Again, while others complain about everyday challenges, entrepreneur

Is it proper for men of God to use the pulpit to canvass for votes or campaign for party candidates?

Image
For sometimes, political activities have shifted to the pulpit as some clergymen have used their positions to advance the cause of political parties their candidates for this year’s general elections. Recently, Rev Father Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministries, Enugu, stirred the hornets’ nest when he declared in his adoration sermon that President Goodluck Jonathan should quit office for incompetence. Late last year, Dr. Ahmad Gumi, fearless cleric also said, All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari should not be entrusted with power. In the same vein, other men of God at different locations toe the same line. Against this backdrop, Saturday Sun sounded out some eminent Nigerians on this contentious issue. Excerpts: BLAME GOVERNMENT FOR MIXING RELIGION WITH POLITICS –FALANA Renowned legal luminary, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN) said: “By virtue of section 10 of the Constitution, the State shall not adopt any official re

CAN, Katsina clash over planned demolition of ECWA Church

Military worried over crop of officers produced by NDA

Image
The hierarchy of the Nigerian armed forces has expressed worry over the crop of officers produced by the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) for the military in recent years. This is coming just as the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy and the Nigerian Navy have commenced an in-house intensive military training for young officers who have just passed out from the academy and deployed to the various services to better prepare them for the enormous task expected of them. Sources hinted that the crop of officers produced by NDA, which is responsible for the training of officers for the Nigerian armed forces, has become a great concern for the entire Nigerian armed forces as the performances of most of the officers who passed out from the academy in the past 11 years are nothing to write home about. Sources say the decay in the training of officers actually started when the institution reverted to its current four-year programme as against its five years duration as well as inter
