Kano State governor, Engineer Rabiu Musa Kwan kwas o , has sworn in Justice Patricia Mahmoud as the acting Chief Judge of the state The acting Chief Judge replaces the Chief Judge, Justice Shehu Abubakar, who will officially retire on the January 10, 2015. Speaking during the swearing in ceremony, which took place at the Government House on Friday, Kwankwaso said, the appointment was in line with Section 271 ,Sub section 4 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Section, he added, stipulated that the most senior judge should act pending the appointment of a substantive Chief Judge. Kwankwaso stressed that his administration would continue to work harmoniously with the judicial arm of government, while appealing to striking judicial workers to end the strike and return back to work in the interest of the nation.
