A Chihuahua in Southern California has a second chance at life after a near-fatal surgery.
Julietta the Chihuahua underwent surgery for a broken leg at the Chula
Vista Animal Care Facility last week but after the procedure, her heart
stopped beating, according to ABC News affiliate KGTV in San Diego.
Dr. Julia Maher, who completed the operation, said the three-year-old
dog had "was turning blue." Julietta didn't breathe for two minutes.
When Maher and a veterinarian technician resuscitated Julietta, she started breathing again.
"That rarely happens," Maher told KGTV. "I was just amazed."
