2019: IBORI, OKOWA BATTLE FOR SUPREMACY TEARS DELTA PDP INTO SHREDS

IN what is seem as a battle for supremacy in Delta state over the upcoming 2019 general elections, we can reliably report that the seemingly godfather of Delta state PDP, James Onanefe Ibori, may have drawn the battle line with his godson, Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa as he has vowed not to attend any meeting called at the instance of the governor.

His decision may not be unconnected with the poor performance of Mr Okowa as the Governor of Delta state.

It would be recalled that Chief Ibori was equally absent in the Delta central mega rally which took place in Sapele only to attend the Thanksgiving service of the erstwhile speaker of the Delta state house of Assembly, Hon Ovwigho Igbuya in the same Sapele the next day.
According to reports, the desperation of Okowa to put up a different political empire loyal to him and incapacitate perceived politicians loyal to Ibori is another possible reason why he has continually shun any meeting organised by the governor.
It would also be recalled that Mr Okowa few says after Ibori returned from prison summoned all politicians of Anioma extraction to a secret meeting were he boasted that he will end the reign of godfatherism in the state and since then he has done everything humanly possible to target the Ibori political dynasty starting from the removal of Hon Ovwigho Igbuya ,Speaker Delta state house of assembly.
As the battle for supremacy ranges on the former Delta state ex-convicted governor, Mr. James Ibori was conspicuously absent from the PDP meeting. Ibori’s absence which was said to be deliberate, A blog was quoted to have said that it was not unconnected to the pocket of squabbles between him and governor Okowa, especially the way and manner the governor is running the state like a personal estate without recourse to the masses.
It would be recalled that this is the third time the former governor was shunning PDP enlarged meeting since his freedom from the United Kingdom prison.
